Computer Tips & Tricks

TouchPad Control

Are you having problems with the sensitivity of the TouchPad on your laptop/notebook? Did you try going to the Control Panel but could not find the TouchPad controls in your Mouse Options? Go to the computer Manufacturer's website and look for the Synaptics Touchpad Driver. Once you have downloaded and installed the driver you should be able to open your Mouse Options and choose from a variety of settings, including Disable TouchPad.

If your computer manufacturer does not supply a driver that will let you disable your Touch Pad or, for some reason the driver does not work, try checking your Bios Settings. You can visit this website BIOS Access for help on accessing your Bios Settings. If, like me, you happen to have a Dell Latitude, you can go to the Bios Setting labeled Pointing Device. This setting has three options:

* Serial Mouse - to use an external serial mouse & disable the integrated Touch Pad.

* PS/2 Mouse - to disable the integrated Touch Pad when an external PS/2 mouse is present.

* Touch Pad - PS/2 Mouse (default setting) - to switch between the integrated Touch Pad or External PS/2 Mouse when one is present.

** Change the setting to PS/2 Mouse

Automobile Tips

Check Engine Light After Fueling

If your Check Engine Light comes on after stopping for gas, you may not have put your gas cap on properly. Try removing and putting the gas cap on again. In 15 minutes or so your Check Engine Light should go off. Remember, it is not wise (or safe) to ignore a Check Engine Light for too long!

Nitrogen - Who Knew!

Did you know that replacing the air in your tires with Nitrogen can save your tires, increase your mileage, and reduce rust and corrosion? Just Google NITROGEN IN TIRES and check out all the information on this well-kept secret.

About My Links

Seems only appropriate to include the Google News link in my blog. After all, Google does provide these free blog services. Besides that, I absolutely love Google and use many of their products/services including (but not limited to) their blogging services, Hello, Picasa, Gmail, and probably a few more that I have forgotten. GO GOOGLE !
